Should we stop the collapse? Or should we let it come as part of our evolution?
Many of you must remember the Cosmos series presented by Carl Sagan in the 80s. One day Sagan related that within 4.5 billion years there will be a last perfect day for the Earth, after which the Sun will begin to degrade for another 4.5 billion years and will devour the Earth.
Paraphrasing Sagan, I believe that at the beginning of 2009, there was a last perfect day for corporate and predatory capitalism that governs all countries on the planet as a system, no matter what the ideology of the government and the state that is circumstantially in power. All equally are slaves to corporations, oil, and a highly corrupt, expensive, and totally ineffective financial system for the new generations.
In early 2009, a certain Satoshi Nakamoto, whom no one knows or will ever know, gifted us with Bitcoin, an incredibly revolutionary new technology known loosely by the name of Blockchain, signifying the end of that financial system.
Have you heard of permaculture?
Permaculture integrates land, resources, people, and the environment in terms of beneficial synergy for all components, imitating the closed loops of optimization of resources and expenses that nature's systems show us.
Permaculture is a multidisciplinary toolbox that includes agriculture, water, harvesting, hydrology, energy, forestry, waste treatment, natural constructions, animal systems, aquaculture, technology adaptation, the economy, and community development.
The word permaculture was coined by Bill Mollison as a contraction of permanent agriculture and permanent culture. It consists of the conscious design and maintenance of productive agricultural ecosystems, which have the diversity, stability, and resilience of natural systems. It is the harmonious integration of land and people, to provide themselves with food, energy, shelter, protection, and other material and non-material needs, in a sustainable way. Without permanent agriculture, there can be no possibility of a stable social order.
The underlying philosophy of permaculture is to work "with" nature and not "against" it, by looking long rather than acting long, looking at systems as a whole and not just a part of them, and allowing systems to show us their own evolution.
Permaculture brings us closer to anarchy and the concept of small self-sustaining communities, which we call "mutual", since it is made up of a series of components aimed at designing decent living spaces that provide happiness to their occupants, fertile lands that bear fruit that can be distributed in the mutual, and above all things, the professions for the mutual that, in addition, give happiness to their practitioners.
The urban human being has taken the role of observer of nature and does not understand or pretends not to understand the importance of each component that nature, which is not mistaken, has placed in each ecosystem. He/she thus ignores the importance of a species of birds, of a species of plants, of ants, of bees, of rivers. Biodiversity is wiped out every day with lab-conceived poisons that only serve to increase the profits of lab shareholders and large tracts of land. By eliminating the "bugs" the human being is annihilating himself, with the aim of buying a bigger yacht or a Lamborghini.
Permaculture is a humanistic lifestyle, which not only deals with caring for the biodiversity of the systems but also ends up having a great influence on all aspects of society and human organization, influencing housing, technology, education, health, finances, governance, and relationships between individuals in general.
Permaculture takes into account which is the best place to build a house in harmony with the environment, and which are the best materials to do so. But, in addition, it takes care that the spaces and routes that are going to have to be in contact to develop economic activity have the shortest possible circuit, to make them more dynamic and efficient. It is also concerned with transmitting knowledge that is acquired naturally and not following the rules of ministries of education and corrupt states run by corporations. Permaculture ends up being a guarantee of healthy food production which means that the population does not need to buy pills, syrups, and treatments designed by medicinal laboratories to increase the profitability of their shareholders.
Permaculture is a rigorous scientific method, as is anarchy and nature. It requires a deep knowledge of ecosystems, an understanding of the compounds of the earth and its microorganisms, the symbiosis between species that give stability to the ecosystem, a deep knowledge of climate and meteorology, genetic diversity, natural energy flows such as gravity, electromagnetism, atmospheric electricity, the physics and chemistry of materials and their cycles in the biosphere. This speaks of the professions needed to develop a permaculture ecosystem.
For example, a permaculture crop must please the environment, not disturb it, looking for a local typical species to plant, planting it in the right season, achieving an improvement in the soil and the diversity of underground microorganisms, which in turn allows stability to be maintained, so that the trees receive the best food, store carbon by increasing the organic matter content of the soil, and preserve its inhabitants for generations.
Permaculture is the operating system of anarchy. Its objective is to take care of the human being and biodiversity. On its basis, different applications are built that allow us to recover the spaces depredated by capitalism for more than 200 years, produce healthy food, drinking water, energy, and construction materials, improve the health of the ecosystem components and increase the satisfaction of its inhabitants. In short, to regenerate the natural capital that capitalism took from us and continues to take from us, that is, the sun, water, and biodiversity, with the aim of making ecosystems sustainable for hundreds of generations.
I will continue.
